The short version
I'm Hunter Peters. I make paintings canvases and small graffiti style murals. When I'm not painting I'm usually learning how to do something else.
How I paint
My work leans toward bold color and exaggerated, expressive faces and places. Acrylic is my main medium. I love the way Impressionist artists can capture the emotion of their subject with quick color, I try to emulate that. I'm obsessed with Vincent VanGogh, he got it.
Happy Boy Atelier
Somewhere along the way I got tired of guessing at composition and perspective before committing paint to canvas, so I built Happy Boy Atelier — a small desktop app that lets me plan a piece digitally first: reference photos, perspective grids, lighting, all sorted out before the first brushstroke. It's free for anyone who wants it, and it's the reason "Digital" is in the name.
